I've read Mr. Massa's other series, and I especially enjoyed the Occult Assassin. This new main character, Jason Night, started off with some real promise. He was one of the good guys. Now, I totally get the scene facing the succubus. The sexual attraction was to be expected. Meeting the sorceress was not my favorite, but again, I could understand. Now, where the story and character get off track are afterward. The lady said flat

I began reading William Massa via his "Shadow Detective" series which comprises 10 book (and counting), I think. I really enjoy(ed) that series, so when he started the "Night Slayer" series with this book, I happily plunked

This book is awesome. I have read the Shadow Detective series by William Massa and loved them. I knew this one would be just as good as those. Jason Knight, a Seal team leader who witnessed his whole team slaughtered by a shape shifting soul sucking succubus. He entered a sanctuary in the throes of death only to be reborn a demon fighter. I couldn't get into the author's voice in this book. The story felt a little cliched and was shy on details in areas. His reoccurring sexual fascination with the sorceress became a little tedious (the scene was a lot like the one where Dresden got his powers) and the golems felt like creepy living sex dolls. The most interesting character for me occurred towards the end of the book. I like some his other series but I won't be c

I have picked up than one series of adventure novels by the author William Massa. In many ways, they remind me of the 'men's adventure' fiction I grew up on (Think The Executioner, The Destroyer, etc.). The books are short, compared to today's adventure fiction. The stories get to the action very quickly and there is action o'plenty! Night Slayer reminds me of those '70's novels even because there is a healthy dose of sex written into the p

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the storyline. It captured my attention from first all the way to the end. I especially loved the addition of Keira at the end and hope she is in the upcoming books as well!

An excellent start to a new series from William Massa. I'm a huge fan of the Mike Raven series, so I was simultaneously looking forward to this one and slightly concerned about how it would compare. My concerns were in vain it's a very promi

Not a bad story although it does tend to ooze cliches, steely eyed, lantern jawed etc, etc. One cavil is that if Knights team entered a building at night, wearing sunglasses, I'm not surprised they were slaughtered. There's being cool and just plain stupid.

I've been a fan of William Massa's books for a while now and this looks like the start to another great series.
Gets straight into the action and keeps going until the end.

Overall this is a decent story, characters are okay with some interesting twists to keep you reading. I would however like the MC to stop referring to his MP5 as both a submachine gun and an assault rifle as it isn't an assault rifle

What i liked about this book, was that it is every bit as good as all of William Massa's
previous that i have read. Well done Bill. Loved every page.

FROM COP TO DEMON HUNTERMy Name is Jason Night Im a SWAT Team Commander and former Marine Ive experienced a lot of crazy shit in my life and I dont scare easily At least not until today After seeing my whole team get wiped out by a succubus and nearly dying myself Ive been recruited by a mysterious sorceress to become a soldier in a new war A WA. I began reading William Massa via his Shadow Detective series which comprises 10 book and counting I think I really enjoyed that series so when he started the Night Slayer series with this book I happily plunked of my money down I think I give an edge to the Shadow Detective series but this is almost just as interesting and entertaining Perhaps that opinion will change as the series gels over several new additions Shadow Detective does have 10 books so far so the characters settings and background have had uite a bit time for the reader to become comfortable The beginning of the Night Slayer kept me interested enough to yearn for so it is off to a good start I ve already read the 2nd installment and am waiting on my wife to finish the 3rd book so I can dive back in Series is one worthy of you time and money investment To the author go ahead and take your time developing the characters the mythology and the adventures because you ve got me in for the long haul and I want to enjoy it every step of the way
