Married for His One Night Heir

“You stole my son from me Gia” Now she’ll wear Di Fiore’s ring Commanding Santo Di Fiore is stunned to see Giovanna Castiglione again Her unexpected appearance at his luxurious party in the Bahamas leave. This novel was boring and filled with poorly structured sentences There were entire paragraphs with long rambling sentences and sentence fragments that could ve been rectified with a semi colon I think I read a different novel from every other readerI m like the little dog who falls asleep on herself out of boredom while all the other GR reviewers who obviously loved this book are like the white chihuahua who s alert and awakeThis book failed for me in many ways but my BIGGEST ISSUE is the abundance of SENTENCE FRAGMENTS in this novel Chapters 4 and 6 are filled with grammatically incorrect sentences That annoyed the F out of me because it s obvious that the editors didn t proof read this novel properly I m left to wonder whether they re incompetent or if they missed these obvious errors because they were also bored with the story and fell asleep on the job A few examples of sentence fragments and incorrectly structured sentences are1 The use of the word Which to start a sentence that s NOT structured as a uestion Which wasn t an option when she had just managed to put herself back together Which had immediately discounted her Which was exactly what bringing Leo here had been In correctly structured sentences the word Which is used either as an adjective or a pronoun or at the start of a sentence It s obvious that that s not the case in the above examples The author could ve replaced which with this Another option would ve been to add a semi colon to the sentence immediately preceding the one that began with which That would ve provided the continuity in a grammatically correct manner The fact that the author kept repeating this mistake shows that she s unaware of the problem We all make mistakes when we re writing and our thoughts run a mile a minute but this seemed to be a pattern rather than a normal mistake 2 That Leo was better off here and that somehow they could make this work for both of them There are many examples that I can provide but I am so annoyed right now that I m going to move on to other issues The fact remains that this novel is published by a respected publisher and these simple grammatical errors should ve been picked up and weeded out by editors Some advice to the author Google is your friend If you feel too lazy to pick up old grammar textbooks just type a couple of simple uestions and Google will provide the answer Some advice to the editors 1 If you re so bored with a manuscript that you re falling asleep on the job then it s obvious that the manuscript needs to be altered or left unpublished 2 If you re not bored with the manuscript and you re still unable to identify grammatical errors then you re in the wrong jobNow I shall move on to my review of the actual story1 It started off fairly well but I soon grew bored because both MC s were bland and the story didn t hold my interest That surprised me because the blurb had fired my imagination so my expectations were high2 Santo had moved on with his life after Gia had dumped him to marry Franco He d had several long term relationships with at least 4 women who were actually named and described Suzanna Abigail etc I could ve done without all that detail to be honest 3 The narrative didn t connect with my emotions I m a very emotional person and I enjoy novels only when I am able to empathise or identify with the MC s I wanted to feel the heroine s pain at being separated from the man she loved Santo and being forced to marry Franco The bland style of writing made it difficult for me to do this This was supposed to be a passionate second chance love story that s filled with angst but it just ended up being a tepid narration of social excursions fashion the daily activities of the MC s etc I actually stopped for a minute or two and wondered if I was lost in a Helen Bianchin novel when I started to get bored with all the details of the MC s la di da lifestyle and high society minutiae Hey don t misunderstand me I love the billionaire trope in HPlandia but other authors manage to blend it with some sexy and fascinating storytelling This author and Helen Bianchin aren t able to do this very effectively However I reminded myself that at least Helen s writing wasn t filled with grammatically incorrect sentences 4 The MC s were both good parents to their young son and the heroine wasn t a total spineless pushover She stood up for herself finally after years of allowing others to dictate to her Safety No cheating a wannabe OW and no OM Both MC s were not celibate during their separation The H had been in several steady relationships with other women but he was single at the time he met the heroine again The heroine lost her virginity to the H but dumped him to marry another man Her marriage had been consummated but she hadn t had any lovers after her mafioso husband was murdered In case anyone s wondering the heroine hadn t wanted to dump the H but her fiance had threatened to murder the H if the she didn t go through with the wedding Her husband Franco had agreed to pass off the H s child as his own I doubt I ll be reading anything else by this author and now I m going to go and play with my adorable dogs because when one is depressed the best thing to do isOr if that fails then go pat a kitty
