Wall Street Journal bestselling author Jeff Wheeler continues his majestic Harbinger series in a world where motivations are as mysterious as magicFor three years Sera Fitzempress has been a pawn in a gilded prisonthe floating manor of Pavenham Sky Disgraced and exiled from society she has been isolated from the downtrodden shes determined to l. The third book of the Harbinger series by Jeff Wheeler is another testament to the author s ability to draw you into a story While the book is good on it s own merit you really need to read the previous two installments to fully appreciate it The book starts off with an unexpected twist that for me confirmed some suspicions but left many uestions unanswered Cettie and Sera continue their disparate adventures and as a reader you are able to start to piece some things togetherWhile in the previous novels I felt that Cettie had a richer character development this book was Sera s time to shine As a reader it was fun for me to see Sera discover herself while she went through a crucible From spending time in Pavenham Sky to traveling to other worlds I felt that Sera really began to figure out who she wants to be and what she must do to get thereI found myself vacillating on how I felt about certain characters introduced in this novel Could I trust them or not Whether I could or not should the protagonists trust them Again Jeff Wheeler masterfully keeps you guessing as to where true loyalties lie as the fate of both individual lives and that of empires hang in the balanceIf you enjoyed the other books keep reading The story just gets better and better I anxiously anticipate the next book I feel like this book was a pivotal piece to the story and that it has set the stage for some exciting developments aheadIf you want a good story that is fun intense and engaging and have not started the series yet I strongly encourage you to do so I would personally advise that you read some of Jeff s other series first While not necessary knowing about the worlds of Muirwood and Kingfountain add depth to an already wonderfully woven saga I am excited to continue the the adventures in Prism Cloud when that book is released in a few monthsEdit I initially gave this book 4 stars but now that some time has passed I have found that whenever my mind has a chance to wander it is returning to this world and analyzing the twists and turns and postulating what may be coming next To captivate the mind and fill it with anticipation is the sign that Iron Garland needed that fifth star While I am done reading the book the story keeps me lingering in the world that has been created in the mind of the author and conveyed by simple ink on a pageDisclaimer I received an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review The thoughts expressed here are my own

Nse during turbulent times However as of Cetties mysterious past comes to light her greatest challenge may be a reckless stranger with a dark secretThe fog of war is drawing in and with it comes a startling new enemy who may unravel secrets that both women would prefer stay hidden But their secrets may be the only way to stop the coming darkness. As before I m sure a general theme in future instalments we begin several years after the end of the last book allowing the reader via the small details provided as they continue the story a little imagination to conjure images of the missing years a very enjoyable experience in my opinionAnother continuing theme being the progression of the characters personalities abilities watching as they mature in front off your eyes following the logic from action to reaction everything in balanceBut all of that would mean nothing if not for the fantastic storytelling swathes of political intrigue the brilliance brought to flourishing of the personal relationships especially with the much awaited Adam situation finally developing but with whoA great read highly recommended mainly to those who have read the previous entries in the series though

Never liked the feeling that I am bieing short changed but not even a day s read a small amount off character s and a massively predictable plot with the main characters not manifesting the ability to see what s as clear as the nose on their faces well it s like reading Disney Knocking out books keeping them simple that smacks of not properly Being involved with the characters

This is definitely the best of the Harbinger Books so far. Cettie and Sera are growing in strength and wisdom as they take separate paths to adulthood, and face very different challenges as a devastating battle wages between their homeland of sky people and the water worshipping world of Kingfountain. Cettie has become the secret h

I've really been enjoying the series thus far, and after the ending of this novel, I'm particularly looking forward to March 5th, when we receive the next installment. Jeff isn't JKR or Pat Rothfuss, Robin Hobb, or Brandon Sanderson, but he brings a great deal to the YA fantasy genre. I'm happy to have found him!

I wish the publishers could choose book titles that thoroughly describe the book rather than one obsc

Once again Jeff Wheeler delivers, too many books 3/4 are slow and plodding.
But these keep up the pace of the first book, brilliant characters (and I don't say that lightly ). Super plot lines , and a wonderful story is being unravelled.

This is the third book in this series and whereas the story and the characters are still somewhat interesting it lacking any real excitement. I feel it is almost suitable for the teen market. Everything just comes together with issues resolved too easily and the characters all a bit too one dimensional. It's a

The first two books were ok, 3 1\2 stars, but this did not seem to progress the story. Like so many middle volumes, it was mostly padding. A good editor would have reduced this to 3 or 4 chapters as part of the next book.
