Jons Crazy Head Boppin Mystery Jons Mysteries #2

I’m rather used to the crazy cases because let’s face it most cops can handle the run of the mill with their eyes closed I’m only called in when the situation is weird or they need to solve the case fast This case is a little of both Someone’s attacking women as they get off of work hitting them in the back of the head What started as a case of battery has steadily built up to homicide With three murders six victims and no leads the Clarksville PD are desperate to catch the assailant But there’s no real leads for u And just like that I m off this hype trainFirst of all fuck dual POV Secondly FUCK DUAL 1ST PERSON POV It is incongruent repetitive and there wasn t anything distinctive between the two main narrators If you took out the helpful denotations of each narrator you probably wouldn t be able to differentiate between Jon and Donovan s voices Making the dual POV pointless Murder mysteries are just better from an omniscient narrator or a 1st person narrator But this book is just a big no The murderer is a man who appears to be the psychic euivalent of a paranoid schizophrenic But making the victims exclusively women and then having the audacity to try to dredge up sympathy for him No I m sorry but no No you can t try to justify femicide with mental illness It was handled so poorly I can t handle it I just can t And I won tThere is a better story to tell He could have even been a psychic villain Or the story could traverse the ways which psychics deal with less dangerous criminals with mental health issues that affect their auras and meridian lines and whatever I m also fed up with every damn page praising St Garrett of the short lean build On top of that it s just boring There was no sense of urgency No suspense This wasn t even a mystery novel It was just a series of log entries of a couple of days in the lives of Jon and Donovan The only point of interest was the almost altercation between the Clarkson PD chief and Jon This book and everything it stands for can fuck off

S to follow either and for once my eyes can’t really help A madman running around attacking women is bad enough but the police are demanding answers we can’t give them and they’re not taking no for an answer It’s pushing us all past our limits and frankly I don’t know what’s going to break first The case or Donovan’s patience Tags Explicit sexual content Relationships Loss of control Emotional HurtComfort Domestic Tenderness Tooth rotting fluff I didn’t know that was a tag until just now POV Alternating Women This was a bit of a disappointment This series has so much potential but somehow nothing really happened in this bookI love Jon s abilities We got some exciting scenes in the first book with Jon playing human lie detector and him trying to figure out killers auras I loved those parts And I was sure we would get of this in this book But we got almost nothingJon did two level 3 readings where he connected with the minds of two coma patients It was completely boring and it was over in 3 sentences After that he supposedly drained himself completely and had to recoverNow it was mentioned a lot how Jon would be wiped out after a level 3 reading and everything was going to be very dramatic If that s the case I need to at least have a dramatic kind of psychic reading before I fully embrace the fact that it impacted Jon that much But we didn t get thatThere were no issues with Jon and electronic devices in this or anything like that Well he still can t be around anything electronic or it would fry but there were no problems arising from that in thisNow I had some trouble with the rest of the book as well the romance and character development and this all comes down to one main problem This book was all tell and no show We get told about Jon s ability a lot but not shown enough the first book handled that better And I was also uite surprised when Donovan kept thinking about Jon and how he was so calm all the time and how he was never cranky or riled up He was basically this uber relaxed person according to Donovan But I never once felt that way myself I didn t think Jon was this super laid back person at all He did get angry at times and even cranky So once again what we were told and then shown didn t line upThese books have so much potential I really love Jon and Donovan and I think Jon s psychic ability is just amazing But have him track serial killers or have him figure out a person close to him has been lying or something Anything to make it excitingI will still try the other books in the series but I really hope the author decides to use Jon s ability and to use show than tell

And just like that I'm off this hype trainFirst of all fuck dual POV Secondly FUCK DUAL 1ST PERSON POV It is incongruent repetitive and there wasn't anything distinctive between the two main narrators If you took out the helpful denotations of each narrator you probably wouldn't be able to differentiate between Jon and Donovan's voices Making the dual POV pointless Murder mysteries are just better from an omniscient narr

This was the fluffiest the most adorable mystery I have read this month The characters are absolutely lovable the solution of the case hinges on psychic's abilities so the mystery itself is fine but not the main attraction for me Jon and Donovan are so cute and sweet together This author managed to make me like her men even without high intensity or steam of which there was very little There was a tiny bit of angst that was resolv
